USAGE
-----

1. Select the desired Windows action under "Action".
2. Select the desired trigger under "When?".
3. Enter a time or select a process if required.
4. Optionally enable "Force programs to close".
5. Press START.

Use STOP to cancel an active job.

Before the selected action is executed, PowerOff displays a warning. For a normal
countdown or process trigger, this warning phase starts 60 seconds before the action.

PROCESS MONITORING
------------------

PowerOff can wait for a selected process to exit.

The process list mainly shows applications from the current interactive Windows
session. Known background and system processes are filtered where possible.

After selecting a process, PowerOff monitors that specific process instance. When it
exits, the 60-second warning phase begins.

FORCE CLOSE
-----------

The "Force programs to close" option can prevent open applications from blocking a
shutdown or restart.

WARNING:
Unsaved data may be lost. Use this option only when you really want Windows to close
blocking applications without further confirmation.

LANGUAGE
--------

Use "DE | EN" to switch between German and English.

The selected language is stored under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerOffFASM

Value:
Language

Possible values:
de
en

TITLE BAR / SKIN
----------------

By default, PowerOff uses the custom NC title bar.

The native Windows title bar can be enabled with this Registry value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerOffFASM\NoSkin

Type:
REG_DWORD

Values:
0 = NC custom title bar
1 = normal Windows title bar

If the value is missing, 0 is used by default.

The NC title bar provides:
- Always-on-top pin
- Minimize
- Close
- Window dragging using the title area
- Roll-up / Restore by right-clicking the title bar
- Color-theme switching by double-clicking the NC logo

DPI AND DISPLAY
---------------

PowerOff uses Common Controls v6.

The executable does not declare itself as Per-Monitor-DPI-aware. This allows Windows
to scale the complete interface proportionally at settings such as 125 %, 150 % or
200 %.

DWM window transitions are also disabled specifically for PowerOff's own top-level
windows. This is intended to make the window appear fully visible immediately when
the program starts.

No global Windows animation settings are changed.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-------------------

- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- 64-bit Windows

SOURCE CODE / BUILD
-------------------

PowerOff is written in Flat Assembler (FASM).

To build:
1. Install FASM or FASMW.
2. Open PowerOffFASM.asm.
3. Compile it with FASM.

The source uses:
include 'win64ax.inc'

The source is intended for FASM 1.73.35.

NOTE ABOUT THE PROVIDED EXECUTABLE
----------------------------------

The public source code does not contain the private Self-Integrity Check.

The distributed executable may additionally be built with a Self-Integrity Check.
If that executable is modified afterwards, PowerOff may display a tampering warning
when started.
